Vintage Fiesta 13 Inch Chop Plate

The 13 inch chop plate is the smaller of two vintage fiesta serving chop plates. It was in production for over 33 years and can be found in all eleven vintage colors, even medium green! Collectors of the elusive medium green will be happy to add this large piece to their collections since the great size showcases the solid color glazes so well. It is hard to find the chop plates without scratches since they were meant to be used at the table (including cutting up steaks) and frustrating for the picky collector are the common skid marks across the front which maybe happened during the making at the factory by the jiggering machine. These machine looking skid marks seem to appear most often on the 1950s colors, so be on the look out for pristine examples.

Measures 12 1/2" wide from edge to edge x 1 1/8" tall

Marks

Marked with the glaze stamp "GENUINE fiesta HLC USA" on the outside bottom, although it is not uncommon to find unmarked examples as well.

Years of production

Circa 1936-1969: Made in all of the eleven original vintage colors. Hard to find in Medium Green. Red discontinued from the end of 1942 until reintroduced in 1959.
