Vintage Fiesta Mixing Bowl Number 4

Vintage Fiesta mixing bowl number four

The middle sizes of the seven piece fiesta nesting bowl set would be the number 3, 4, and 5. All of these bowls are very handy and were the go to bowls to use in the kitchen. The number four sized bowl, weighing it at 7 3/4" wide can be used for countless tasks. This convienent size makes these bowls more used than the smaller and larger examples in the set, so finding them in excellent, collector quality condition can be a challenge. Add to that the fact that these large sizes leave more room for error on the hand labor manufacturing techniques being used by Homer Laughlin China Company during the late 1930s and early 1940s. Hand dipping such large bowls was no easy feat, leaving us with lots of examples with runny glazes, drips and misses. Many of these variations are just part of the process from the vintage production, but should be taken into consideration when valuing the bowls.
