The deep plate was not part of the original 34 pieces introduced to the world by January of 1936, but was quickly added to the popular line before Christmas of that first year. Even though the cream soup bowl had already been designed there wasn't anything with a nice large well and oversized rim. It's a popular bowl and continued to be produced for over 32 years until the end of the original fiestaware run. Collectors of medium green will rejoice in having another piece to add to their collections. The deep plate, like all other fiestaware plates had the front rings formed from within the mold, but the back rings had to be added one at a time on a jiggering maching.
