The large ring handled teapot was part of the initial line up of the first 34 pieces when the soon to be famous tableware hit the market place. Holding eight cups when full the large teapot can be heavy and cumbersome. The medium (C handled) teapot was quickly developed and although the two were offered simultaneously for nearly a decade, ultimately the larger ring handled version was discontinued while the easier to use C handled medium sized version continued to be made even throughout the 1960s in medium green. Suprisingly the ring handle was part of the one piece mold and did not have to be hand applied. The lid's finial would have been separately cast and hand applied though, so you want to make sure you find examples with straight knobs. The steam vent hold was also hand punched so you will find various placements and sizes for the vent hole on the lid.
Measures 6 11/16" from base to top of finail knob x 9 1/4" wide from tip of spout to back of ring handle.
